Monthly luck

Each calendar month's pillar — theme and ease for the month you're in.

Monthly luck, traditionally called Wolun, reads each calendar month's moving pillar against your fixed birth chart. Your day pillar(especially the day stem, your day element) is the anchor we score against. We compare the month's stem and branch to your chart's helpful and caution element lists, name the leading life theme, and show how the month interacts with your day pillar.

Where it sits in time

Daily rhythm is the finest grain — today's pillar. Monthly luck is a new pillar every calendar month. Yearly luck is the annual layer; decade luck is the longer backdrop. Each layer uses the same helpful and caution lists (elements computed from your four pillars that tend to support you or add friction), but monthly luck runs theme scoring at month granularity without the decade backdrop points that yearly luck includes.

Pillar ease

Supportive, demanding, steady, or push and pull — a separate check on month stem and branch elements vs your helpful and caution lists. Push and pull is the month where the stem and the branch disagree, and it is the second most common answer of the four, so expect to see it often.

How we calculate the theme

  1. Compute the calendar month pillar (stem + branch) for that year and month.
  2. Add weighted points into life themes from the month stem, month branch, helpful/caution touches, and branch interactions with your chart.
  3. The highest-scoring theme names the headline for that month.
  4. Pillar ease (supportive / demanding / steady / push and pull) is separate from which theme wins — the same pattern as yearly luck.
