Movement & travel

Like the three-year cycle, yeokma is not drawn from your full four pillars, as yearly and monthly themes are. It comes from a single lookup: everyone whose birth animal is in your group of three shares the same movement animal.

We show it as a traditional time of movement and change: travel, shifts, or a restless pace may feel more likely. When the theme score also reads active then, both labels can appear together. They answer different questions, and neither overrides the other.

1. Read your birth year branch: the animal on your year pillar, the same starting point as the three-year cycle and visibility labels.
2. Find which of four three-harmony groups it belongs to. Each group of three animals has a fixed movement animal, listed below.
3. When a year or month has that animal, we show the badge in yearly or monthly luck.

This is separate from the theme score and pillar ease: a folk calendar label only.

• Movement & travel (Yeokma): checked at both the yearly and monthly level, so it can show up more often in a year.
• Visibility & attraction (Dohwa): checked at the yearly level only.

Both come from the same four groups of birth animals. But in every group the movement animal and the visibility animal are different animals, and a calendar year has only one animal. So the two can never badge the same year. Movement is also checked on months, and a year runs through all twelve month branches. So your movement month comes round every year, whatever the year itself is doing.
